We're obsessed with outdoor cooking. Here's why that's good for you.
PortableStoveReviews.com exists because buying a camping stove online is harder than it should be. There are hundreds of options, conflicting reviews, spec sheets written in marketing speak, and an Amazon listing full of five-star reviews that may or may not be real. We fix that.
We test camping stoves, propane appliances, and outdoor cooking gear so you can make a confident purchase decision. Our reviews are based on real-world testing โ not press releases, not manufacturer talking points, not affiliate incentives. We care about one thing: giving you accurate, useful information so your next camping trip has better food in it.
Every stove we recommend has been through a testing process that covers:
For products we haven't personally tested, we clearly state that in the review and rely on aggregated user data, expert sources, and manufacturer specifications โ always with appropriate caveats.
We do not accept free products from manufacturers in exchange for reviews. We do not accept payment for rankings or recommendations. We do participate in the Amazon Associates affiliate program, which means we earn a small commission when you buy through our links โ but this never influences what we recommend. Our affiliate disclosure explains this in full.
If we tested a stove and it was mediocre, we'll say so. A 3-star review that's honest is more valuable to our readers โ and ultimately to our site โ than a dishonest 5-star review that sends someone off to buy the wrong gear.
Our content is written and reviewed by outdoor cooking enthusiasts with real backcountry experience. We've collectively logged thousands of nights camping across the Appalachians, the Rockies, the Pacific Crest Trail, and beyond. We know what it's like to try to boil water at 11,000 feet in the wind, and we know what it's like to cook for a family of four at a campground. That experience shapes everything we write.
Have a stove you think we should test? A question we didn't answer? A correction to something we got wrong? We genuinely want to hear from you. Reach out at [email protected] or use our contact form.
